Ilya Kovalchuk retired from the New Jersey Devils today, looks like he will sign in the KHL. Thoughts?

Flyers ink Lecavalier. 5 yr/22.5 mil
Darren Dreger from TSN broke the news today that former Tampa Bay Lightning center and #1 overall pick Vincent Lecavalier has signed a 5 year contract with the Philadelphia Flyers. The contract itself is worth $22.5 million over the course of the deal. Lecavalier is 33 years old but is a big body at 6'4, 218 lbs which will be very welcomed in Philly.
As a fan of the Flyers I really like this deal, Lecavalier will fill the hole left by Danny Briere's departure. It gives Philly another solid faceoff taker and a veteran to help develop players such as Matt Read, Scott Laughton and Sean Couturier. GM Paul Holmgren still has a ton of work to do, Philly still is in desperate need of another goaltender as well as some quality along the blue line.
This summer will definitely be an interesting one for the Broad Street Bullies and fans.

Begin
I'm very excited for this blog. This blog is meant for those who a) want to follow what's up in the life of me, b) want to know what's going on in various hockey that I follow, or c) want to see if I reach my ultimate goal of being a sports writer. So strap in and enjoy the ride, hopefully it will be as fun for you as it will be for me.
